Books Amber Read

Ok, so now Amber is reading. Here is a list of some of the books (in no order), she enjoyed......

All 4 books written by Stephany Myer--The Twilight Saga..... Eclipse, New Moon, etc.
She enjoyed watching the first two movies before reading the books so when she spotted the books, she had to give it a try. There was so much more to the books than in the movies which all four kept her attention. She had a hard time putting the books down. The descriptions being used in the books were great and she couldn't find a better way this author could have used to tell this story. The only problem she found is that there could have been one more book to the series. That was disappointing to her but other than that, it was a great read and she fully reccommends each one to her own readers!

Time Out of Mind by (John R. Maxim)..........
The way this author was able to murge the past with the present is totally remarkable. This was one of the first novels that Amber read in 2010 and pushed her into reading full time. The choice of words used in the story was amazing. Amber would read this book again and would have to find the movie (if one was made) just to see if her mind was right in the visualization that she got from the words.

Long Walk by Bachman (Stephen King) republished and had a special note about importance of being Bachman............
This was the very first book written by King that Amber actually read. She always enjoyed watching his movies so when she read this book (hasn't been made into a movie), they put herself into the story. She actually caught herself yelling at the characters lol. Amber already knew how twisted this author is but seeing is more believing! Now she knows just how good King is!

Simeon Chamber by Steve Martini..........
This is an author who writes many books using lawyers and such. This paticular book kept Amber's attention and she enjoyed the journey with the author. Because she did enjoy this book, Amber tried another book by the author titled Compelling Evidence but couldn't get passed the first 5 pages and quit. The language in the two books were totally different and she couldn't enjoy the second book.

Play Dead by Corben (first name and can't remember it lol).......
This book made Amber cry in one of the scenes which is a very difficult thing to do.

Night Time is my Time by Mary Higgins Clark.......
Great story by this author although the author tended to use too much of the word prases "he thought" or "she thought" and used "and" where she should have used commas making the sentence sound weird lol. The story itself was really good and Amber enjoyed it. Its a murder mystery where someone from a highschool reunion is going around killing the women in his past. She kept wanting to know who the killer was. Each turn of the page pushed her closer to that knowledge.

See Jane Run by Joy Fielding.......
One of the characters was a disapointment but other than that, it was a great story and Amber got into it.

Ghost Moon by Karen Robards.......
Talk about a past coming back and biting you in the a**. Amber really really enjoyed this one. Its another one of those murder mysteries with a kick.

A Wrongful Death by Kate Wilheim.......
Amber would read this one again too. She was in the search right along with the MC, looking for answers to why her husband died. Amber was shocked just like the character was when answers came rolling in. The ending blew her away in a good way!

The Broker by John Grisham......

Ghost Boy by Iain Lawrence (this is a YA book lol)......

The Hunt for Atlantas by Andy McDermott.........
Amber hopes to see this one on the big screen. It turns out this one is a series with Hunt for Herculies (something or rather) right behind it. Very good story and kept Amber's attention.

Carrie by Stephen King.......
Amber actually was disappointed with this book. The movie was much better. In the book, King kept breaking up the story by adding bits of "reporter" type story with details that happened after the story to give the reader imformation. And it had a different ending. The movie is much better!

The Mist by Stephen King......
It was almost like the movie which Amber saw a long time ago. The only difference was the ending which she enjoyed, although the open-ending could have been less open lol.

Full Dark, No Stars By Stephen King.........
This is a book of short stories, four of them to be more exact. Each of them non-related. Some of them were creepy but all of them kept Amber's interest.

Firestarter by Stephen King.......
Reallu enjoyed this one. Amber had seen the movie at least twice. The young lady playing the part had always been good. She's grown up now but still acting. The book was a little different, at least the ending in the book let you know how the girl is. The movie keeps that part out so the book was better!

Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane.....
This is a first book to a series which Amber sort of enjoyed. There were a few areas where Amber didn't agree with the story but she kept forgetting it was fiction and not real lol. Other than that, it was a good read. She was finished in just a few days.

Odd Hour by Dean Koontz......
Amber couldn't really get into this story. The story was good itself although Amber wasn't used to Dean's writing technique. He used too much detail in the scenes making them longer than she really cared for. He is a good writer though, she just didn't care for this book by him lol.

Flesh Eaters by Joe McKinnie...........
Amber really enjoyed this zombie book and has begun reading the next in the series by this author.

Apocolypse of the Dead by Joe McKinnie.........
Another book with zombies, the second in the series and it left Amber wanting more.

Amber forgets the title about the Cul-de-sack murder but she did enjoy it.

Chicken Soup of the Soul: Life Lessons 4 Women by Stephanie Marston, MFT; Jack Canfield; and Mark Hanson (plus contributors)...........
Good book, enjoyed it. It was all about the essential ingredients of a balanced life. Amber learned a few things about herself so it was a good read for her.

Excavation by James Rollins.........
Should of had a sequel. Amber enjoyed this story very much!

X-Men: The Last Stand by Chris Cleramont............
Just like the movie lol

Vanish by Tess Gerrtson

Last Words by Mariah Stewert

Remember Me by Christopher Pike

The Stand by Stephen King

Creature by John Sohl

Hideaway by Dean R. Koontz............This book had me hooked from page 1. Aside the large words and some of them I couldn't even pronounce. And there were 2 minor errors but then again, no one is perfect. Its a story about a man who dies and is brought back to life. But now he's seeing images in his head of things that are going on through the eyes of someone else. Yeah, this theme has been done before by other authors but its still a good read. I didn't want to put the book down.

Echo Burning (A Jack Reacher novel) by Lee Child..........Never heard of this author but gave it a try. There were a couple predictable areas in the story but it was still a good read. If you like mysteries and crime then this would be a good read for you. I enjoyed it.
